Uwell company began to develop POD-systems that could please you with good taste and they succeeded – Caliburn series devices are considered to be one of the tastiest at the moment. Deciding once again to add to this lineup, the developers of the company presented Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit – a slightly improved and more practical device.
General Information
Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit is a compact POD-system, equipped with a medium-capacity battery, designed for the use of interchangeable cartridges with built-in vaporizers on the grid. The device is made in the traditional for devices of this type form factor – a small stick with rounded corners and edges. Despite the simplicity of the device, it has two activation options – by puffing or by pressing the “fire” button, which also turns the device on and off. The device is designed to use the new interchangeable cartridges with a built-in mesh vaporizer with resistance of 1.0 ohm. Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit is available in six colors – red, silver, gray, green, blue and black.

Caliburn A3 Pod Device Battery Pack
It is hard to find a vape manufacturer that has not started mass production of POD-systems, and Uwell company known to all vapers is no exception – there are quite a lot of devices of such format in its assortment. The most famous and wide range of Uwell POD-systems is Caliburn – the devices of this series managed to win the trust of vapers all over the world. But its developers do not sit still, constantly offering more and more new devices, so it is impossible to call the appearance of Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit a surprise, although the device turned out to be quite interesting and practical.
Caliburn series devices are associated by vapers with sticks, so it is logical that Uwell’s designers left the Caliburn A3 POD kit form factor the same – it is a small stick with rounded corners and edges, topped with a flattened mouthpiece. The body is made of aluminum alloy, so it’s a little rough and pleasant to the touch. The POD system is quite compact – 109.8*21.3*11.7 mm, and lightweight at only 31 grams, so it will take up minimal space in a pocket or purse.
Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit is powered by 520 mAh built-in battery – a small enough value, but enough battery to work autonomously for one or two days. The battery is charged using the USB Type-C connector located on the bottom end, and the manufacturer promises that the battery can be fully charged in just 15 minutes.
Despite the fact that this POD system refers to a fairly simple system, it operates at a constant power of about 13 watts and has a full set of protections. The device is activated both by puffing and by pressing the single “Fire” button, which is also used to lock and unlock the device by pressing it twice.
At the bottom of the device there is a rather original LED indicator, the color of which can be used to judge the battery level, activation and charging.
Caliburn A3 Pod Cartridge
What’s interesting is that a new Caliburn A3 Pod cartridge has been developed for the new device, with nothing known at this time regarding the POD system’s compatibility with cartridges from previous releases. The cartridge is held in the battery pack by strong magnets. Caliburn A3 Pod cartridge is made with built-in vaporizer on 1.0 ohm grid, so good taste is guaranteed for the vaper. There is no airflow control, but judging by the design and the size of the air inlets, the draw is moderately tight, close to MTL. Uwell has taken care of convenient refilling. To refill the cartridge, you just need to remove the drip-tip and pour 2 ml of liquid into the hole, equipped with a check valve.
Conclusions and impressions
Despite the strong similarity to the previous versions of Caliburn, the new Uwell Caliburn A3 POD kit has a number of features, both positive and negative. The vaper will get a compact, practical and quite tasty device, which is perfect for vaping liquids based on salt nicotine.
