Review of SKA Liquids

Review of SKA Liquids

Finnish company SKA Liquids has been in business since 2015 and has positioned itself as a manufacturer of high quality flavors, equally suitable for both vaping and food industry. The line features 23 simple flavors (only 22 made it to me) that are made in an industrial factory. SKA Liquids products, according to the company itself, are very popular in Finland and are probably the best selling. As for the concentration of the flavorings themselves, the recommended dosage in the liquid should be around 20% for most samples.

Packaging of SKA Liquids flavorings

The flavorings are supplied in unremarkable 10ml bottles, which are equipped with first-opening and child-proof caps. On the labels, besides the horrible traces of something bad, you can find the composition, a certain number, as well as the expiration date. There is also the e-mail address of the manufacturer. online vaping shop in australia It is difficult to understand the rest of the inscriptions in Finnish, and it is hardly necessary, more important are the flavor indicators of the aromas. Let’s start tasting. As a basis for mixing, I chose a variant 30/70 in the direction of glycerin with a strength of about 1mg nicotine, so that the flavors were revealed better.

SKA Liquids flavor descriptions

SKA Liquids – Moonis

Manufacturer’s description: Red berries, licorice.

I was unable to make out any distinct berries here, both in the smell and in the taste. Although in both cases a certain berry note is definitely present, but in the smell it is still more. But when vaporizing, the berries go to the background, giving the leadership to a good share of cheminess. The mixture looks more like a berry shampoo than a vaping liquid. Probably, this is how the declared licorice “phonates”.

SKA Liquids – RokRok

Manufacturer’s description: Coconut, almond, vanilla.

An amazing combination of two very different representatives of nuts and vanilla. I don’t even know what hits the taste buds best: coconut or almond. Both nuts intertwine into a rather pleasant mix with a palpable coconut sweetness and almond bitterness. And smoothing it all out is the aromatic vanilla, which gives the vapor a very mild and light flavor.

SKA Liquids – Grandpa

Manufacturer’s description: Tobacco, nougat.

Nougat from Grandpa is almost identical to that in the famous chocolate bars, just as sweet, enveloping and, it seems, draughty. The last point, of course, does not apply to the liquid, but it describes the nougat presented here as best as possible. As for the tobacco component, it is not too pronounced in this flavoring. The finished blend, we think, will suit equally well for vaping on cigarettes, and on devices with free puff. Sweet, slightly tart aroma.

SKA Liquids – Bully’s Yell

Manufacturer’s description: Tobacco, honey.

Manufacturers do not mix tobacco flavorings with anything, trying to somehow diversify their mixes.  The same fate befell this flavoring, in which the honey note prevails, while the tobacco note remains only in the background. Undoubtedly, Bully’s Yell is a tobacco flavor, but, according to my taste preferences, not mine.

SKA Liquids – Fruit Bomb

Manufacturer’s description: Yogurt, apricot, raspberry, peach.

I’ll tell you right away, this is an unusual yogurt, not like the usual liquids. On the inhale immediately gives off milk, and then you can feel a light and delicate note of peach mixed with apricot, and somewhere in the background shows itself raspberry. On the aftertaste you can feel peach, fresh peach flavor. Interesting aroma, non-trivial, but, unfortunately, it smells like some soap or shampoo.

SKA Liquids – Smooth Death

Manufacturer’s description: Ice cream, salty licorice, vanilla.

What an amazing smell of real vanilla ice cream Smooth Death gives off, you can hardly wait for the infusion of the knead. And how unpleasant it is to realize that someone at this party is obviously unnecessary and spoils the whole picture. As you could guess, this “someone” is liquorice, whose purpose is to turn the delicious ice cream into a child’s cough medicine. This flavor is definitely passing me by.

SKA Liquids – Menthol

Manufacturer’s description: Menthol.

This flavoring should by no means be considered as a separate flavor, it is just an additional component for self vape. A saturated component, by the way, as the percentage of Menthol is recommended by the manufacturer to keep in the neighborhood of 5-15%. Menthol in authentic performance, there is nothing more to add about the presented aroma.

SKA Liquids – Al Skapone

Manufacturer’s description: Cigar.

From the bottle comes a pleasant smell of tobacco leaf, seasoned with some additional component, similar to something dessert. In the flavor only tobacco, very and very tart, with characteristic bitterness and, to some extent, harshness, solves. This flavoring is best when mixed on MTL devices, which is logical. In general, the tobacco is decent.

SKA Liquids – Iso Kalle.

Manufacturer’s description: RY4, coconut, tobacco.

Iso Kalle only remotely resembles that very classic Ruyan 4, as there are several other ingredients besides this one. The promised coconut is indeed there, and it is very strange to see this flavor in tobacco. However, it should be said that the coconut in this case resembles the natural pulp very much, because of which the liquid does not acquire confectionery notes, remaining the same tobacco.

SKA Liquids – Route 666

Manufacturer’s description: Baked apple, vanilla.

It should be immediately noted that this flavoring does not go into a subdued, one hundred percent confectionery. Both apple and vanilla are clearly heard. There is a little more of the latter than apple. There is a slight bitterness, perhaps from the vanilla. The apple is like a real red apple, but with a candy tinge. Pleasant, mild, moderately sweet flavor. Perhaps one of the most delicious representatives of the SKA Liquids lineup.

SKA Liquids – Kontula

Manufacturer’s description: Strawberry, blueberry, licorice.

Looking ahead, the presence of licorice in SKA Liquids flavors will only get stronger from here on out. As for Kontula, strawberry and blueberry are quite harmoniously neighboring each other, and both of these berries are clearly felt in the liquid. The lack of any hint of naturalness here, I think, is not worth talking about. This is a candy flavoring, slightly “soapy”.

SKA Liquids – Menthis

Manufacturer’s description: Apple, menthol, lime.

When inhaling the vapors of this aroma your eyes literally start to water, because the manufacturer clearly did not spare menthol here. Seriously, the blend turns out to be too mentholy, with a characteristic coldness and freshness. Apple and lime shy away from showing themselves in any way, remaining barely noticeable notes on the exhale.

SKA Liquids – Skaisenberg

Manufacturer’s description: Berries, mint.

At the first puff I got a strong impression that I was vaping some kind of plastic. Later the flavor grew into something chemical-pharmacy. And further on I managed to distinguish notes of mint, menthol and, perhaps, eucalyptus. Aftertaste is sweet, slightly fresh. The aroma is unusual, but it is very much for the amateur, to put it mildly.

SKA Liquids – Fishnet

Manufacturer’s description: Berries, fruit, watermelon.

From the can it smells like apple, a little bit with berries. The flavor is dominated by berries, you can feel something sour, maybe strawberry and also raspberry, hard to make out. The apple plays only a background, but in the description of the manufacturer this fruit is not specifically mentioned, so it is not a fact that this apple is here at all. It’s a rather confusing mix, it’s hard to make out the components. But tasty.

SKA Liquids – Pouni

Manufacturer’s description: Vanilla cream, strawberry.

Looking at the label and not reading the description you may get an impression that we are facing a flavoring with the taste of a doughnut, however, the taste is completely different, almost completely corresponding to the description. Indeed, there is both vanilla cream and strawberry. There is definitely more of the latter, with the berry dominating both the flavor and the pairing. The strawberry flavor is similar to that of various candies, there is little naturalness. And the vanilla cream only gives the finished liquid a soft confectionery aftertaste. Very good.

SKA Liquids – Slak!!!

Manufacturer’s description: Cigar, vanilla.

Smelling the can for the first time you can easily miss the smell of cigar, only a persistent flavor of vanilla, which is present in the vapor, making the finished liquid soft and slightly sweet. The cigar is not so obvious, but its flavor is clearly felt on the aftertaste, not leaving the taste buds for a long time, and with each next puff the tobacco note becomes more and more pronounced. The flavoring is quite good, I liked it.

SKA Liquids – Ugala Bugala

Manufacturer’s description: Cookie, banana.

From the jar smells like standard banana aroma. When vaporizing, the banana goes to the background, and the first comes out chocolate, similar in sensation to milk chocolate. A nice sweet confection, but more chocolate than banana. I didn’t get a sense of the said cookie, although, again, the dessert flavor is quite noticeable.

SKA Liquids – Talvivaara

Manufacturer’s description: Butterscotch, licorice.

In my opinion, in Talvivaara the producer tried to combine two absolutely not combined components and failed. The main accent is taken again by liquorice with its very repulsive flavor, not allowing butterscotch to be at least a little noticeable. The candy remains a light taste on the tongue, showing that not everything is not so bad in this flavoring, there is still something tasty here.

SKA Liquids – Hugo Dublo

Manufacturer’s description: Blackcurrant, salty licorice, menthol.

There’s that ubiquitous licorice again. I don’t know what the manufacturer’s thing is about it. As for this particular flavor, we again have a fair share of chemosis, because of which it is hardly possible to guess the real berry in local currants.

SKA Liquids – SKAtion.

Manufacturer’s description: Salted licorice, strawberry, raspberry.

On the smell is really strawberry and raspberry, this from this aroma can not take away. The flavor is quite different and resembles a cough syrup.

SKA Liquids – Pikku Kalle

Manufacturer’s description: RY4, coconut.

Why SKA Liquids has two very similar flavors in its lineup is beyond me. The previous version of RY4 was characterized by an increased concentration of tobacco notes, while this one is much softer, more dessert-like and not so tart, but still suitable for the definition of tobacco. Quite suitable for fans of cigarette draught.
