Review of Mech Mod Telescope bOd. History of Vaping

Today, dear readers, I will tell you about an interesting mechanical mod (Greece). We have already got acquainted with the products of this modder (D-Base Tank, THE Dripper Pro, ΣΟΦΙΑ/Sophia). The participant of today’s review is called bOd MECHA.
bOd MECHA is a telescope mechanical mod that allows you to use 18350, 18490/18500, 18650 batteries. The device has a function for adjusting the airflow intensity for evaporators that capture air at the bottom of the connector (AFC – Adjustable Air Flow Control).

But the main feature of bOd MECHA is its switch. Unlike most devices on the market, this product does not have a separate “button”, here this function is implemented in the “head”. That is, the upper part of the device (“head”) combines the functions of a connector, switch, AFC, and liquid chamber.

The participant of the review is an unusual and interesting device from a technical point of view. Looking ahead, I admit that I liked the device. buy e-liquids australia So much so that it was included in a small list of constantly used ones, which does not happen often.

But, in addition to an interesting design, this device has an equally interesting name. Let me explain now.

MECHA is an abbreviation for the word mechanical, the manufacturer emphasizes with the name itself that this is a mechanical mod. And this name also brings to mind an association with a character from “The Lord of the Rings”.

bOd MECHA telescope mech mod – packaging
We unfold it and see a neat handmade leather case. Which can be used for carrying:

I don’t even know, it seems that this accessory is not directly related to the case, but it improves the mood.
There are two visual elements on the device. The serial number on the battery compartment cover and the name of the device on the outer tube (cup) of the telescopic part (later we will see another “hidden” engraving):
Perhaps, large screws in the “head” of the device can also be attributed to decorative elements:

Of course, they have a specific functional purpose, but they also perform a decorative function.

The operation of the bOd MECHA switch (button)
To understand the principle of operation of the switch of the device in question, look at the following photos. On the first one, the “button” is not pressed (voltage is not supplied), on the second one, it is pressed:

We will study this unit in more detail later. Now I will note that when the button is pressed, the evaporator connector is lowered and its “plus” comes into contact with the positive contact of the battery block. This can be seen in the following photos.

Incredibly simple! Straight to the point of elegance.

The logic of voltage supply in the device is as follows:
the negative contact of the battery contacts the spring of the battery compartment cover (or directly with the cover, this is also possible). The minus is transmitted through the cover and the telescope pipes to the “head” of the device. Then from the battery block connector it is fed to the evaporator connector;
the positive contact of the battery contacts the positive contact of the “head”. Until the evaporator connector is “pulled” to this contact, the circuit is open. When they touch, power begins to be supplied to the evaporator coil;
in the case of using voltage regulation devices (Kick, Crown and the like), these devices are constantly under load. Since the power supply circuit is broken only in the “head” of the battery block. This does not affect anything, except for one thing – such devices can make quiet, almost imperceptible sounds (for example, the second version of Kick quietly “crackles”). When using batteries without additional electronics, this does not manifest itself in any way.

Impressions of bOd MECHA

As I said at the very beginning of the review, I liked the device. Both its appearance, and functionality, and its characteristics.

Unusual appearance, I don’t even know how to describe it correctly… The combination of matte and polished parts allows you to use evaporators with different final processing. Large screws in the “head” also give the device a certain charm. It seems that the appearance is neither “rough”, nor too “delicate”, not laconic, but not provocative either. Some kind of universality, or what? Yes, perhaps the device is universal.

For me, this device “became related” to THE Dripper Pro. And although this dripper is not ideal in its characteristics, it is from this combination of devices that I get the greatest satisfaction.

After many end buttons, the switch of this device (“head-button”, or how to call such a design?) seemed convenient. I have a so-called “test in front of the TV”. When I fill Kaifun 3.1 with tasty liquid for long-term TV series viewing, I insert 2 x 18350 batteries into the battery block. And I let the steam flow until the screen closes…

Many battery blocks do not pass this test. Because the most wonderful end button causes hand fatigue during prolonged use. So such devices are classified as “for strong tobacco”, that is, for not too intensive vaping.

On this same device, I pair two or three Kaifun refills in a few hours – and nothing. Everything is convenient and comfortable.

For these reasons, bOd MECHA has become my device for constant use.

So, without a twinge of conscience, I recommend that respected readers pay attention to it.
