We have all become accustomed to the huge number of pods entering the market, but among all this riot of closed and refillable systems, the JBOX by Demon Killer, designed to work with JUUL cartridges, stands out a little. UPD The review is supplemented with replacement cartridges JBOX Replacement Pod Cartridge.
Packaging of the JBOX Mod by Demon Killer
The device came to me in a small white package, on the front side of which there is a grinning skull-logo of the manufacturer, the name of the device JBOX and a small circle-sticker, indicating the design option. buy advanced vape kits australia On the back there is only a list of the kit, a sticker with a check of the originality of your purchase (the window for entering is at the very bottom on the manufacturer’s website, the answer comes in Chinese, so it can hardly be considered a working option) and a number of various icons.
Kit
Demon Killer JBOX battery pack
Micro USB cable
User manual
Lanyard
The only unusual thing in the kit was a hook for a woven “leather-like” lanyard, and it’s stupid to expect variety and translations of the manual from a little-known Chinese company. At least it’s in English and with simple illustrations that make it easy to figure out what’s what. But the manufacturer didn’t include a cartridge in the kit.
Appearance and design of the JBOX Mod from Demon Killer
Demon Killer JBOX Mod in handAs was said at the very beginning, the manufacturer from China decided to use the ecosystem that had already formed around another popular device and offer users of the popular pod on the Western market its own version of the battery pack. True, during its existence, the not particularly nimble American company did not sit idly by, but constantly improved its system. What can we say about Chinese manufacturers, who during this time managed to rivet a huge number of accessories in the form of lanyards with magnets, docking stations and even cases. But Demon Killer decided to replace the battery with their device, increasing the capacity and turning the JUUL into a small box mod the size of a lighter with various improvements. The body, or rather the frame of the JBOX is made of metal with a silver coating, the side walls are made of transparent plastic with images applied from the inside: on one there is the same logo in the form of a horned flaming skull, on the other there is a gray inscription with the name of the device. There are no fasteners anywhere, at the bottom you can only find the engraving DEMON KILLER and a couple of standard icons.

JBOX cannot boast of a variety of choice, only two design options are available: with black or white side panels, I received a white box.

One of the interesting features of the JBOX is the lid that covers the shaft with the cartridge and a small lever that allows you to remove the cartridge inside the case to protect your pod from dust during transportation.
On the opposite side from the lever, there is a micro USB charging port at the bottom, and two small holes at the top for the lanyard loop. The weight of the device (50 g) is, of course, more than that of the JUUL (20 g), but it still allows you to wear the JBOX even around your neck.
In addition to the included strap, the mod even comes with a hook with a connecting latch, with which you can thread the loop into the device. A useful thing, especially in this case, since it is almost impossible to do this with your hands.
Impressions
The device itself looks pretty nice, no problems were noticed with the assembly, it also works flawlessly. The cartridge was hardly finished (even though it is 0.7 ml, but 50 mg/ml, Karl!), and that was the end of the happiness. It felt like a fully charged mod slightly overcooks the winding, the feeling of “almost dry hit” often flashed, but I don’t know who to blame, the Chinese from Demon Killer, who created a battery mod, or the Americans from JUUL, who released the cartridge. But with the native Replacement Pod for JBOX there is nothing like that, everything works as it should. The device is simple, and, at first, it was sharpened for the system of another compact device, very common in the West. In some ways, Demon Killer is understandable, it is a great chance to dive into the existing ecosystem and get the audience that has been using the device for a long time and regularly, but is unhappy with the weak battery (200 mAh), which also requires an inconvenient cradle for charging. Despite its recent appearance on the market, JUUL has not taken off, its place was taken earlier by the more agile Chinese with a variety of pods and myblu, which came out later, but with more advantageous characteristics. Therefore, in my opinion, JBOX will not take off either. But! If you remember about the refillable cartridges released specifically for JBOX (apparently suitable for JUUL), this is already a self-sufficient system, not tied to a third-party manufacturer. So the device becomes much more attractive for purchase, without losing its “trick” with the ability to use ready-made cartridges.
