Review of Rainbow EDC Vape. Disposable flash drive

In this review, we will look at the Rainbow Pod device from the young company EDC, which decided to join the ranks of manufacturers with the simplest vaping devices.

Naturally, disposable ENDS are not as interesting as those that we used to call serviced, or at least semi-serviceable, but together with the latter they make up a huge share of sales from all vaping devices. They are simple, unpretentious, do not require training and, as they say, “don’t mind throwing them away.” There is even an opinion that there are many more buyers of such devices than our favorite mods, dripcocks, tanks and even egos. Judge for yourself, these small things are often easily available everywhere, right up to tobacco kiosks, and are bought not only by vapers, but also by smokers, who often need to saturate their body with nicotine as quietly as possible without anyone noticing, when there is no opportunity to smoke or use a normal setup. Strange as it may seem, even these externally (and internally, let’s be honest) simple things are developing, and new manufacturers are constantly appearing on the market, ready to “bite off” a tidbit from the profit that these “sub-vapes” bring. The subject of today’s review is the Rainbow POD, a classic “whistle” in an unusual design, the first of two products produced by EDCvape.

EDC RAINBOW POD Packaging

A fashionable disposable item came into my hands in a black and yellow blister, the same color combination as the device itself. Of everything indicated on the packaging, we may only be interested in the characteristics and the image of green citrus next to the 5% mark. We can conclude that this is a device with some kind of fruit liquid (“fruit punch with a lot of citrus fruits”) based on salt nicotine with a strength of 50 mg/ml. e-liquids in australia There was even a manufacturer’s sticker on the box with a check for originality, and on my copy there was also a store sticker with a barcode and a Sample mark.

Comparison of EDC RAINBOW POD with 18650 battery The device has a pleasant-to-touch rubberized non-separable body, there are no buttons or connectors, only two small holes and something similar to a plug. In general, there is no way to charge or refuel our vape. Despite the inscription Pod on the packaging, in fact the device is not one, because Disposable, i.e. it is disposable and does not provide for either refilling or replacing the cartridge; there is simply no “hearth” here. If it weren’t for the inscription EDC VAPE on the entire front (relatively, there is no difference) side, then the device would look like some nice flash drive, the only thing missing is an eyelet for a lanyard to hang on your keys.

On the back of the device and on the box, among various inscriptions, you can find the Apollo Ecigs logo. The liquid from this particular manufacturer is filled into the device and, if desired, on the website you can even find and read a description of each flavor from the assortment of multi-colored “flash drives”.

The EDC Company produces six colors of the device, depending on the color the taste will be different. However, you shouldn’t hope for adequate taste transfer and a big difference between them; Rainbow POD’s task is not at all to amaze you with the richness of aromas.

Plug in EDC RAINBOW POD

The hole in the steam line (through which the steam will escape) is closed with a small silicone plug. It’s better not to lose it, because this small part protects the hole from dust and covers the tightening sensor (essentially a microphone), which turns on the device.

On the opposite side there is a small plug (literally glued) with an airflow hole. Air is taken from here and supplied to the winding of the built-in evaporator. The most important task is not to accidentally plug this hole with your hand when tightening, especially if you are covering the “light”.

EDC RAINBOW POD puff indicator

The EDC RAINBOW POD is triggered the moment you take a puff. At the same time, a white LED inside the device lights up, which can easily be covered with your palm if the goal is to vape as discreetly as possible. It turned out that the device has built-in protection, at least a cutoff: the LED blinked three times and the device turned off. The manufacturer promises us about 200 (the figure indicated on the website) or 230 (on the packaging) puffs. I’ll say right away that I got tired of counting very quickly and I won’t risk giving an exact number. Whether the battery runs out first or the liquid in the tank runs out depends on the duration of the puffs and the frequency of use. My battery died earlier: the diode blinked a couple of times, after that I was able to take a couple more puffs and that was it.

Impression

Appearance of EDC RAINBOW POD What can you tell about the device besides the fact that it works? I liked the very tight tightening and the fact that there was no liquid flying into the mouth or any drips; the device remained completely dry until it ran out of charge. Once the sensor is “stuck”, i.e. the device continued to work after tightening, but after a few seconds the built-in protection worked and everything worked out. However, this is a common bug in such devices. There is practically no taste of the refilled liquid, and I learned that there is some kind of citrus mix inside (and even more so “fruit punch”!) only from the description of the liquid on the Apollo website. And this despite the fact that I constantly vape base without flavors and do not complain about clogged receptors. But no one is going to blame the miniature non-service for this. The liquid turned out to be strong, but practically without TC. This is why I don’t really like salt nicotine; you can overdose and get a headache before you realize you’re high. I think this is a matter of experience and personal preference, and smokers will like this little thing more than vapers who have been accustomed to other nicotine over the years.

Comparison of EDC RAINBOW POD with a flash drive

I Liked:

Small, simple device, similar to a flash drive

Nice rubberized body

Tight MTL tightening

I Did not like:

No control of liquid and remaining charge

Appearance of EDC RAINBOW POD

There are some doubts about the price, because… such a price for 200 – 240 puffs for our smoker may seem like an expensive pleasure with frequent or constant use. On the other hand, when there is no opportunity or desire to tinker with jars, cartridges, batteries and charging, several of these things can save you during a flight (at your own peril and risk, I did not advise anything) or on vacation. Moreover, saturation at a strength of 50 mg/ml occurs quite quickly, and even 1 ml and the built-in battery can last you a whole day of use; I “finished off” the device for several days, taking it mainly for walks. The device is very compact, almost invisible (if not for the large VAPE inscription and the bright yellow body) and takes up virtually no space even in your pockets.
